Course Contents

1.     General Nursing & Midwifery Course (GNM Diploma)
Programme Duration:
General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) is three years diploma course affiliated to H.P. Nurses Registration Council- Shimla and recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi

Intake: 40 students per year
Pattern of Examination: Annual

Eligibility for Admission:
a) Qualification
The Female Candidate (Indian National) should have passed 10+2 class preferably Science-Medical (Physics,Chemistry,Biology) & English with aggregate 40 % marks from a recognized Board of School Education or its equivalent Board.

Candidates having 40% aggregate marks in 10+2 class with Non-Medical, Arts, and Commerce etc. streams are also eligibly and can also apply for the same.

For SC/ST candidates there will be relaxation of 5% marks.

b) Age Requirement:
The Entry age of female candidates should be 17 years (as on 31st December of the admission year) or as directed by H.P. Nursing Council and INC (Indian Nursing Council) and there is no upper age limit for entry in the course . At the time of admission candidate should be physically/mentally fit. However, a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit shall be applicable for SC/ST candidates.

Note: The selection of the candidates is purely on merit basis of qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 preferably with science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and there is no provision/quota kept for in-service/direct FHW/ANM candidates for doing the GNM training course.

 

2.     Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (Bachelor Degree Program)
Programme Duration:
Basic B. Sc. (Nursing) is four(4)- years degree course affiliated to Atal Medical & Research University- Nerchowk, Mandi HP and recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi

Intake: 40 students per year
Pattern of Examination: Semester System

Eligibility for Admission:
a) Qualification
The Female Candidate (Indian National) should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from H.P. Board of School Education /AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE /SSCE /HSCE or any other Board/University established by law in India in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually with minimum 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination . The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination will be 40% instead of 45% as stated above. Provided further that English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc.(Nursing) course. HP Nursing Entrance Test conducted by the AMRU is mandatory for the course. .(Nursing) course.


b) Age Requirement:

3.     Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (Bachelor Degree Program)

Programme Duration:
Post Basic B. Sc.(Nursing) is two(2)- years degree course affiliated to Atal Medical & Research University- Nerchowk, Mandi HP and recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.

Intake: 40 students per year
Pattern of Examination: Annual

Eligibility for Admission:

a) Qualification
The Female Candidate (Indian National) should have passed 10+2 and its equivalent examination from recognized Board/ University established by Law in India with minimum 40% aggregate marks. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the aggregate marks will be 35%.

The candidate must have obtained 50% marks in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) from the School /Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council/Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council. The candidates should be registered as registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM) along with NUID with H.P. State Nurses Registration Council, Shimla or any other state nursing council at the time of counselling.

HP Nursing Entrance Test conducted by the AMRU is mandatory for the course.
         


b) Age Requirement:

4.     M.Sc. Nursing Degree Course (Master Degree Program)

Programme Duration:
M. Sc.(Nursing) is two(2)- years degree course affiliated to Atal Medical & Research University- Nerchowk, Mandi HP  and recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.

Intake: 25 students per year
Pattern of Examination: Annual

Eligibility for Admission:

a) Qualification

The candidates should be B.Sc. Nursing /Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing /B.Sc Hons. Nursing trained from the recognized Institutions not less than 55% aggregate marks. The candidates should be registered as registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM) B.Sc/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with H.P State Nurses registration council Shimla/ any State Nursing Registration council at the time of counselling.

Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and after B.Sc. Nursing from the date of registration at the time of counselling.

HP Nursing Entrance Test conducted by the AMRU is mandatory for the course.
